Communities

Community is absolutely essential

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. – Hebrews 10:23-25 (ESV)

To be a Christian is to admit that you need help – that you are a sinner, you have blind spots, and you don’t have the strength in yourself to live a righteous life. We know that we need Christ, but the truth is, God ministers to us through the people around us. And, in community, we have the opportunity for God to work through us to bless and encourage others.

Joining yourself to a Community Group is an act of faith, and a commitment to the work of discipleship – growing and encouraging others to grow to be more like Jesus. Discipleship happens best in small groups of people through relationships, where you can know others and be known.

Right now we have two kinds of groups that meet: Sermon-Based and Independent Study.

Sermon-Based groups use the Sunday sermon for their curriculum, and the focus is on how to apply the truth from the sermon to real life.

Independent Study groups choose their own gospel-centered curriculum to work through, which may focus on different topics or books of the Bible.
